Roberson was commissioned to produce this ink by Samuel Prout (1783-1852, a superlative draughtsman) who painted the buildings of Western Europe in faithful detail. Lightfast, based on Van Dyke crystals. This medium brown ink is ideal for sketching, giving even washes with a smooth dispersal of fine pigment. It can also be used for calligraphy and Chinese brushwork and dries to a satin finish.

Roberson French Sepia Ink. Indian ink. Water resistant once dry. Rich, warm golden colour that dries to a glossy finish. Use with a dip pen or brush. Produces a good wash. Particularly good for sketching.
